Perimenopause can come on so gradually that little changes to your cycle or mood can
completely surprise you and overwhelm you. "Are all these symptoms coming from Perimenopause?" is a common question millions of women ask themselves as they begin this transition.
I have been an expert in the Perimenopause Hub, 100,000 women strong,
for the past 4 years and, increasingly, the solution everyone suggests is hormone replacement therapy or Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy.
The real question is, “IS HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY ACTUALLY RIGHT FOR
ME?”
I fixed all my Perimenopause symptoms naturally for myself and my patients. What if your body already has the resources it needs to feel better but just needs help
accessing them?
The risks vs benefits of HRT or bHRT vary from woman to woman and it’s a good idea to change one thing at a time. Journal about how you feel and what changes you have in your symptoms so you can learn what's working and what isn't.
Healing your hormones with your own, natural solutions will prevent side effects and other
conditions arising while bolstering your overall state of health for years to come.
Even my patients on HRT or bHRT benefit from natural strategies and solutions as well as
management of their health care from an alternative provider such as myself.
Your body has many organs that can help your hormones or contribute to your symptoms. One VITAL thing you need to do is detox your liver, gall bladder and thyroid at least once a year to unclog problem pathways that lead to serious health conditions like gall stones, high cholesterol, high blood pressures, and thyroid conditions alongside weight gain.
All the health conditions you had prior to perimenopause can worsen as your body starts to
shift.
Perimenopause can cause very few symptoms in some women or very serious for others depending on your personal health and genetics. Mental wellness can be problematic with an increase in anxiety, depression, and memory issues. Joint pain is common and a detox often helps this a lot.
Perimenopause isn’t a disease; it’s a transition in your life that just needs some extra care and attention. This is what you need to know.
How do your liver, gall bladder, and thyroid affect your hormones?
Your liver and gall bladder are filter organs that use bile to remove waste from your system.
These filters impact your hormones by processing the excess and regulating the number of hormones in your bloodstream.
If your liver and gall bladder aren’t working properly, they won’t be able to balance your
hormones. This results in the perimenopause symptoms you’re probably far too familiar with
and the worsening of other conditions.
Your thyroid produces and regulates a range of hormones. If it becomes overactive or under
active, your body will struggle to properly secrete the correct amount of hormones.
Thyroid problems and perimenopause imbalances will begin to accelerate each other,
worsening the symptoms for both. It’s important to detox your thyroid so you can start to
properly balance your hormones again.
Nutrition plays a big role in how your organs function, which also helps prevent cancer. This will be a major factor in your detox.
What does a detox look like?
When you detox, you need to remove any strains on your organs while giving them the nutrients they need to heal. Without the extra stress and needed resources, it will begin to heal itself.
In my practice, I tell my patients to use good, better, and best. I would rather have a patient do some gentle detox than none, even if they are struggling to get their diet to a healthier place.
Taking your detox one step at a time is becoming so critical in heading that right direction that I don’t want people to wait while they try to get it right!
Food can be incredibly healing when you have the right plan. It may be tough at first, but you
can do anything for a few weeks.
The exact foods you should eliminate during your detox depends on the organ you’re focusing on, but removing alcohol, refined sugar, and processed food are important.
Foods that help rebuild your liver include citrus fruits like lemon because they help produce
enzymes that flush out toxins. Cruciferous vegetables and leafy greens are also important foods for removing toxins and adding fiber to your system. Beets are another great option for liver nutrition because of their ability to increase oxygen in the blood and break down toxic waste.
Your thyroid loves nuts, beans, herbs, oats, and other easy to digest foods. Detoxing your
thyroid can be a little trickier, so make sure you come in to get a detailed plan if you need to
cleanse your thyroid.
Jumping straight to hormone replacement without detoxing isn’t a great solution for treating your perimenopause. Other problems from these clogged organs will persist and continue giving you problems, so make sure you cross this important bridge before trying more invasive solutions.
