How to Provide Your Body Healing Energy

Most people are trying to force their body to heal while ignoring the signs that it’s exhausted.
Like everything, your body needs energy to function. If you’re feeling sick or worn down, you need to give your body enough energy to start and complete healing processes. Energy is vital for your body to stay healthy and prevent injury.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this energy is called Qi (chi). It’s the force in charge of movement, communication, and life through your body. It affects:
Healing
Circulation
Mood
Digestion
Sleep
Stress
When the energy in your body is depleted or stuck, symptoms begin to appear. Even modern medicine recognizes that the body heals poorly under chronic stress, inflammation, exhaustion, and nervous system overload.

Why Healing Needs Energy
Healing is one of the most beautiful projects your body was made to perform. Like any other project, it needs resources to function.
Your body was made to heal itself; you just need to give it enough energy to occur. It cannot begin healing when you are sleep deprived, dehydrated, overstressed, and undernourished. Many people are constantly draining their energy in their day-to-day lives without replenishing it.
You cannot heal in survival mode. You might feel this way if your body is lacking energetic resources.

Why Pushing Harder Often Backfires
Often, my patients try too hard to workout with an injury. Some go to PT and the tissue is weak and puffy, and it struggles to respond to the exercises.
Your body is trying to tell you it’s overwhelmed, and it needs a break.
If something hurts, it’s okay to stop. It’s better to give your body rest when it asks for it rather than pushing through and hurting the muscle more. You’ll notice much better gains from your routine with a rejuvenated body.

It sounds counter-intuitive, but rest – even 5-10 minutes of laying down flat – can strengthen your body and your adrenal glands.
I often tell my clients I don’t want you to avoid exercising completely. I want you to learn to listen to your body first and stop when there is pain. There is no award for pushing through pain.
Next time you are tempted to push through, take it as a sign that your body is asking for help. This is a great time to schedule an acupuncture appointment – you need a healer who gets to the root and has more than one tool to help you heal. A free consultation is a great place to start.

Tools for Giving Your Body Healing Energy
Acupuncture stimulates the fascia – which is the photoluminescent cover over the muscle! If you could see your muscles, they are lit up. Acupuncture engages with that electricity and conducts it, directing your body to pay attention to the area that needs healing.
When I put needles into a client with weak shoulder muscles, I can tell the difference in the tissue after treatment. It plumps up, and after a couple of treatments, it returns to a normal healthy state.
Other important tools that give the body energy include:
Taking time to deeply breathe into the belly.
Drink lots of water.
Eat on time.
Take herbs and supplements because food is often not nutritive enough.

You need an edge in this busy life. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and functional medicine are increasingly important treatments for stimulating the body to heal.
Most people don’t need another generic protocol, they need someone who can understand the full picture of why their body isn’t recovering.
